What Scrapbookers Want: The Ultimate Holiday Gift-GETTING Guide

From our perspective, what could be easier than shopping for a scrapbooker? The stores are loaded with goodies and potential gifts galore, any of which would be the ideal addition to our scrapbooking bag of tricks. But to the uninitiated, venturing into a scrapbook store – or even to an online shopping site – is like journeying to Timbuktu without a map, guide, or interpreter. Everything is completely foreign, bizarre, and even a tad bit scary (imagine seeing an eyelet setting kit for the first time and wondering exactly what scrappers do with that hammer and paper piercer!)

There is good news for your loved ones. We scrapbookers, as different as we are, also can be conveniently categorized allowing for easier navigation of craft stores and Internet store fronts. Read on, choose your appropriate group, and print out our handy-dandy wish list for your favorite gift-giver. They’ll love you for it.

Category #1: Magpie Maggie
Magpie Maggies love anything glittery. If it shines or sparkles, it’s fair game for the Magpie – even if it’s in a friend’s crop bag! When shopping for a Magpie, look for metallic paper, rhinestone accents, and bling (multi-colored gems). Need a few ideas? Check out these products:

Glitz Designs’ 12” Frosting
These self-adhesive rhinestone strips come in almost a dozen colors, and different sizes and shapes. At $3.99 a pack, you can scoop up a few and have change left for a spiced pumpkin latte!

We R Memory Keepers Foil Glitter Flock
What better way to warm up the winter blues than by opening a package of these slick, shiny accents. You can adhere the foil, glitter, or flock to specially-made stickers. Use them liven up scrapbook projects, home décor items, or even your family members (not recommended).
